Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Are you talking about the overhead lights in the headliner that shine down on each seat? How do you know the lights are fine if they won't come on? Have you checked the fuses?

Are you sure you are pushing the correct switches for the lights? See below:

From looking at VADIS, it appears to be #28, but that fuse also powers other things like the Upper Electronic Module and the vanity mirror lights. So, if those things work, it probably is not a fuse that is bad. When you took the lights out to check them, did you notice if there was a ground wire for the light housing?

Here's a pic of the ground strap. If your car has one, make sure it's in place as shown.

Might not be the fan but the power pack (resister pack) that is right next to it...it goes and the fan won't work. You can try to put 12V directly to the fan- if it works, then it's the power pack. If it doesn't work, then it's your fan. You can get to your fan by taking the sound proof panel out from right under your glove box...just a couple of screws, I believe.

I just had the same thing happen to my reading lights after I changed my battery.
Have you tried to operate the sunroof? My sunroof wouldn't work either. I removed the fuse that controls the sunroof and the reading lights, re-installed it. And everything worked fine after that.
