240 Tail Light Solution

Post by jacob_coulter »

I have a '91 240 wagon, and it has the dreaded brake light and turn signal issue, where the circuit board contacts are going out. I cleaned them with contact cleaner, and played with the bulbs several times. It will hold for a while, and then go out again. I'm afraid I'm going to get pulled over for it.

I understand this is a common problem, and the fix is to solder the wires on the bulb holders. Is there a write up, or How To on this? I'm a little confused on how to do this since I have very little experience with wiring, and if anyone could tell me in simple steps how to fix this issue for good, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks
