I swapped the bulb out with a standard LED strip diode with a load resistor. I have heard these burn out fairly regularly and it was a PITA to swap it previously. Snap off the old bulb from the housing and solder in your LED straight into the plastic housing noting the correct polarity. Stick the housing back in and should be done.

I think they burn out maybe every 10-15 years. So one more should see the car out!
