My first auto-dimming mirror leaked out inside. It was still inside the one year warranty period so I got a new one for free. I still don't use it much unless I'm on the interstate and a truck is behind me. I usually just leave the mirror switched off. I bought it because the price was almost the same as a new regular mirror. It works fine and I really don't even like the dimming setting on regular mirrors all the much. That's why I never mentioned it to you on this thread even though it's in my signature.
