After I have corrected the polarity the reader works fine.
I have put together some footage below and again thank you all for supportive input.
I am reading the result like this: I - I - I = no DTC stored
Am I correct?

Correct you have no DTCs showing, this was mine 5 years ago when I checked it.

I was at a car meeting a couple of weeks ago where another Volvo owner with an Autodiagnos code reader gave my car a scan. This is the first time I've ever seen a scan tool that is able to talk to my car. Glad to say there were no codes present. Try that on a more modern car and there will be a long list of DTCs
