I know this is an old post but it continues to help. Thanks to your drawing, I can see which gear I'm in at night again for $1. Saw this post this morning and needed a small Sunday project, so went to 'The Shack', looked up same part number as above, threaded the leads according to your illustration, and voila! Light! I felt inspired by you, cn90, so I did the same exact thing using the other bulb (there are two in the package for $1.99), for my ash tray light which hadn't worked in years. Same thing. Threaded the leads into the Volvo base for it, and it works too! Thanks, this was an awesome idea and I'm gonna spend the $18 that I saved with this $2 fix on Powerball tickets and beer! Thanks to you I could be a tipsy billionaire mid next week. Well at least tipsy...

Thanks again for this info! Used 7219 bulbs from replacementlightbulbs.com - they were $2.90 for 10 bulbs. They're the same as the Radio Shack 272-1092 - but since most of us don't have access to a local Radio Shack anymore I thought I'd share! Cheers to MVS.

Now you can sell your remaining nine bulbs on to other forum members, decreasing your cost even further. Heck, I'd buy one.
