My bad - I see the picture of the harness as removed. Maybe I should have looked a little more closely ;)

Re: the oil mist behind the lens... maybe it is traveling up the vacuum tube for the boost gauge?

Also - anyone wanting to shortcut and not remove the dash completely.... well, you CAN do it that way but it is probably twice as difficult to do. Remove the dash entirely and you won't run the risk of breaking things. I learned my lesson and when I go to replace the OTHER odometer gear - which was also bad, I will remove the dash.

Before you start, make a note of the location for the annoying service light and remove the bulb while you have it apart. I planned to do this when I did the evaporator and then forgot about it.

JFO,

Funny you said that because when I did this job I did not think about the Service Reminder Light because during the last 10 years, I placed a small piece of black electrical tape over the annoying Service Reminder Light!

Actually from my research, some like LED some don't (and switch back to OEM bulbs).
Personally, I like the OEM bulbs.

CN90... any chance that you could possibly give me direction since you have obviously taken out the cluster. I have a film of oil on the inside of the console lens?
In short, if I remove the dash and the cluster, will I be able to remove the front lense?
I need to get to the inside of the lens to give it a good cleaning.
Is this possible once the cluster is removed?
Hope I don't have to break a glued tight seal.
Thought????
thanks

I have no idea how to disassemble the cluster lens.
Why don't you remove the cluster, then see if you separate the 2 halves?

But there is a simply procedure tu turn it off. I did it yestarday and works great on my Volvo V70 1999
