I loosened my crankshaft bolt via the breaker bar braced against the suspension and then staring the car for a brief second. It's the easiest way to loosen this bolt. After that, then align up your marks before taking the belt off.

How do you tighten the bolt when you put it back together and be sure it is tight enough?
