Would it be pointless to take this one out and run it through the dishwasher? Its been in the car for a few years...

Thank you
Chris

Depends on how tired you are of the smell. You can also find a odor remover and run it in the car to make things smell better.

You need lots of soapy water to get the oil off. Removing oil with water needs surfactant.. (Soap)

Take it to an independent shop that has a hot water parts washer. We have one in our shop (made by Hotsy Pressure Washer) and they work great, and don't mess up your wife's dish washer.

I also installed the Swedish Car Parts unit over the weekend, along with the tubes and the firewall junction which I broke removing the old hoses.
That plastic is extremely brittle, (firewall junction) You also need to have nimble fingers to maneuver the piece out, and back in around the gas pedal and cable (850) and behind the A/C evaporator.

It stinks a little, but not unbearable. I was under a time constraint and didn't wash it at all.

Ben,
I also ordered the junction w/ associated o-rings and clips but not the aluminum tubes. Did you find it advantageous or necessary to have the new tubes?

I take it this was on your '93 sedan. Was the original core leaking yet?

This was for the Turbo Wagon actually.

I ordered the tubes for an extra $30. to ensure there would be no 20 year old parts left in the plumbing equation, aside from the steel tube at the engine block. "Once Bitten".

The old tubes appear to be fine and I would not have hesitated in reusing them with new O-rings.

I have some parts for the '93 Sedan, I am fairly sure the thermostat is failed in the open position as I did not get a substantial amount of heat last winter.

Of course it was 20 below zero most of the time.

Side note.
Dos, I found the Jack and the space saver spare with the ring in my storage unit. Glad you found yours first because it was buried.

Thanks, Ben. I'm also doing all hoses as PM--I already put so many new parts on the S70 that now I don't want to lose it
