The fuel pressure from a stock in-tank pump is less than 7 psi.

but how about the return pressure port from the main fuel pump? what kind of sand paper should I use to smooth it out?

Return pressure line...

Return - come or go back to a place or person

Fuel tank is like a place, and there is a return line coming back to fuel tank

Pressure - is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed.

Fuel tank's outgoing line to main fuel pump, would have low pressure, like less than 10psi; and fuel line from main pump to fuel-pressure-regulator would have a higher pressure, less than 50psi. But, the return line from FPR to fuel tank is not generally considered a pressurized line.
