If you don’t already have a hitch, plan $150+ and you laying on your back drilling holes in your frame rails, then electrical connections if you want a trailer, then the cost of the bike carrier. My son had a Yakima that carried 5 bikes - the whole team! It was heavy, and I have the same concern about blocking the rear lights. But more convenient not to lift.

I'm using a fancy setup on mine, it was expensive (altought I got some good deals) but it was worth the money as I use it quite a lot.
Thule wingbars with 757 feet on the stock rails, and a pair of Proride 598

If I was to do it again I would get some low profile racks, those look like airplane wings

We had a rail-less roof and old school Yakima feet with hold-down hooks that fit the doors (you'll find little holes in the tops of the door openings that these fit into), then Yakima round bars and bike trays with fork mounts.

850s have threaded factory mount holes for the standard aftermarket hitches. I bought from Curt.BlackBart wrote: 12 Apr 2021, 09:45 If you don’t already have a hitch, plan $150+ and you laying on your back drilling holes in your frame rails, then electrical connections if you want a trailer, then the cost of the bike carrier. Curt is a good brand, or go to etrailer.com and read up. They are beefy welded steel tube hitches that bolt into the rear frame rails, and have a receiver tube and safety chain hooks. That's what mine is, and I believe it came from etrailer. I have maybe a tiny patch of surface rust, and it's been under a car in Montana for probably 20 years.

I think I'll go with a Drawtite hitch, and hope for an easy fit. A little drilling is ok if needed, conflicting whether even necessary. Thanks for the input. Will report after installation.
