Yes, a regular washer. Flip it over, can reuse one more time, then replace.

I've got a few dozens of these: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... v50-v70-xc

vtl, the last question I promise.
After removing the ATF drain plug, how much fluid do I allow to come out at a time? say 2 quarts and then re-plug it?
I am not sure since the engine is not running how much fluid drains out at a time.

- I re-use the washers all the time but here is the trick: keep it in the same orientation.
The drain bolt (whether engine oil change or ATF change) creates a distinct dent on the washer.
If you keep it in the same orientation ---> no leak.
If you flip it around, chances are---> leak!

- I posted these washers photo in forum...

Drain everything. About 3-3.5 quarts will come out. Measure in a marked milk jug, refill the same amount.

I use this laboratory gadget. I can't believe I didn't break it yet!
Also, to get an accurate reading, you should let the drained oil to cool down to 60 deg F.
But I get a good ballpark of what came out.

Made in USA, scale is in milliliters (1/1000th of 1.057 quart), "Approximate volumes" - America does not believe in metric system =)

VTL, when I re-fill the same amount (3-3.5 qts) should the plug be re-inserted first or does the plug still stay removed?
I will assume that the plug stays out so the fresh 3-3.5 qts will force out more dirty ATF.
Sorry, I am an engineer and I like details.

Bolt is fully screwed in, otherwise you will loose all of your new ATF :)
