jkelley: Rerun the install process over the current install. That has fixed this problem in the past.

I followed this advice and it screwed my stuff all up. It doesn’t “just work”. I used another method and it worked fine except for auto-detecting my DiCE. I followed your Installation instructions again for the repack and now VIDA won’t load anymore. Looks like I’ll have to erase everything and start from scratch..

You won't be the first that had to wipe clean and start over. That a Windows / IBM clone thing, they are all different hardware and software entities. Persecute it, your find your PC's demons.

VIDA/DiCE is not a normal set up. I use Firefox due to its awareness and developer tools to find my way with newer installation. However, jkelley's frustration is right on with us DIYers. If I can turn it around anyone can.

Dr. Parker your patience is appreciated, don't know jkelley's set up, suspecting port 80 is in use.

TROUBLESHOOTING: PROBLEM: An X is presented in Internet Explorer were the DICE Communication tool selector should be (this happens after a Windows upgrade). SOLUTION: Locate on your VIDA DVD the directory D:\Install\Utils (substitute D: for your actual VIDA DVD location) and the file "EnableIEHostingx64.reg" and merge it with the registry by double clicking on it and then select "Yes" and "OK". For x86 systems do the same with "EnableIEHostingx86.reg"

Thank you for sharing jkelley. The link discusses "To resolve problems with non-detected or problematic DiCE-devices/USB ports...". It speaks to the issues that Rick identified in my Windows 7 Ultimate set up.
