There is also a gasket caulking that I'll try on my '99 S80 to fill these voids called "RightStuff" by Permatex. They say it's "elastometric rubber technology that protects against leaks caused by vibration & thermal expansion." I feel this will withstand the engine temperature changes better than silicone. I've replaced the entire OEM Mount once already & the 2nd one only has 27,000 km's & 3 yrs. on it. A new Mount is $108. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The only material which can correctly hold this arm in place and deal with the heat and torsional stresses placed on it... Wine corks. After fitting this, the 850 in question became Mach1 capable and produced fuel economy figures above 50Mpg.

Lol!

1+,

LOL, very nice innovation.

On another note, I have had the IPD Polyrethane Mount now for 8 years, zero issues.

PS: Just saw IPD sells Lemforder Upper Engine Mount for $5, is it possible it is that cheap?

CN90,
Yes, five dollars is cheap, found the same one on FCP Euro just over $12.00.
