I suggest you are ripe for a PVC job,. About $135.00 for all Genuine Volvo Hoses, elbows, fittings, clamps, and the mysterious "black Box" (which is actually an empty plastic box). To install all the hoses and the Oil Trap (the black Box) takes 5 hours, and is not difficult. It requires removal of the intake manifold It slips off rather easily. A couple great step-by-step posts here.

The simple test is to remove your dipstick, and see if you have any 'huffing' blowing out it. Then, same for the oil filler cap. IT needs fixing, or you risk even blowing the main seals !!! :o You'll need a 1/4" socket set (3/8" is a bit too fat for the two end bolts on the manifold., with a 12mm. 'wobble socket, a 12' extension. A friend helps, just because misery loves company.

You are saving yourself about $400.00 worth of labor by doing this, and its a great way to bond with that new baby of yours.

Thanks for the replies, it's not raining today so I'm gonna get going on this. One other question once it in and that is in the fact why I'm getting the CEL, will it go off automatically or will there be something I need to do to reset it if that's the right term?
