Welcome! This is the community to be in! All friends here. I have yet to see a sign of Tesla, BMW, or Subaru WRX type of attitude here.
LOL Abscate does not abstain from jokes, wisechat is the wisea$$ (just kidding), matthew is the volvosite master (in case you didnt know), scot850 is the 850er (an 89er pun, no offense), and June is the kind lady that has had a bite from most Volvo gems from 89-04.

I have a 98 v70 base 5speed with the sunroof (a recent damage estimate shows GT as trim level). I have all possible options except turbo and AWD installed on it. I just installed a fresh shag carpeted headliner. Some would say its super ugly with all the cosmetic damage, but man it is reliable and fun to drive! I am selling it though. Im going to get an AWD Honda. In the future I hope to get a Volvo 740/940 wagon.

Okay so the car doesn’t have advanced timing on the distributor, so I still have to figure out why the mpg is so bad, but also there is no overdrive relay behind the fuse box, it’s the ZF 4hp22 transmission. I was told that 4th gear acts as an overdrive, so why no overdrive relay unless it was took out? Would putting one in fix the car turning off whenever it goes Into overdrive?

My engine harness is completely toast and instead of fixing the issue i decided to just take the engine out and put something else in cause it doesnt make ANY power, but what that is i haven't decided yet. Theres a guy in sweden that swaps in honda k series and bmw v8 engines, and I thought about that for a while but I have no way of fabricating the multiples parts i would need like mounts and adapter plates, etc... Not only that but i want to swap the transmission to a manual, and that again takes more fabrication, however i did find a website that sells a kit to swap in a CD009. Another issue is the rear end, i have no idea what differential is in the car, and i feel that the car would just spin the tires everywhere and get no mpg. im trying to do this rather cheap so i think im just going to buy a newer b230ft since it would go right in, but otherwise i need help on what works and where i can find parts.
