Going to start with the ABS module

Unfortunately this is extremely common for this piece of the harness. I just re-insulate them as well as I can.

No chassis break on the P80, 20V plug wires. I just ordered 6468 from FCP and received gray ones, though I have not installed or measured them. Sounds like mis-boxed.

How about trying the liquid insulation repair you get for house wiring? You just dab it on with brush and it seals the insulation.

From reading, I guess it's possible to pull the black plastic shroud off the motor so it's possible to reach more of the wire. I haven't had a chance to do that yet. I did get the ABS module sent off today, Though.

FCP has said I can return the wires. I'm glad to hear that you got the proper wires, that makes me feel better about trying again with them.

I have no experience with it, but it sounds a little sloppy for doing a length of wire, and I'm not sure it would be good for an automotive environment. My plan is to use heat shrink tubing of I can get the connector off.

Yes, I saw that after posting. My concern was actually mentioned in the thread. I have basically entirely bare wires at this point.

I understand. I think your idea is the way to go. You can also get sleeving for ground cables in houses. That may also work. You could try splitting it and then running a solder iron down the join.

I used standard tape on my 96, that was about 7 years ago. Should probably check it to see if it needs re-wrapping but it's not shorting out anywhere. All of the insulation fell off, I had the completely bare wires.

Good to know, if I can't get that connector de-pinned.
