After reading this thread for my 2006 S60 Flip Key...

Too much work to cut into 2 halves, and fix it for ~ $30...
I decided to fix it the "ghetto" way.

All you need is some "door rubber cushion, the soft type".
You can find at any hardware store.
This is the stuff you put on door frame so when you close the door at home, it is quiet.

Cut a small piece and wedge it as shown.
To open the key, simply use your finger nail to take it out of the closed position...

Not a perfect fix but it works for me...
