1998 v70 GLT, main cooling fan froze up Topic is solved

Ok, so I need a new fan.

How much do these run at a boneyard?

And....
If I am driving 50-70 mph, and watch the temp guage....no ac....

Can I drive it and keep the engine cool enough to get home? (30 miles)

I would shut her down at stop lights once I am on the city streets

And further inspection reveals that the fan spins one direction, but not the other.

This is when I try to push it by hand, engine off.

(I would disconnect the fan, and drive home, if the moving air will cool the vehicle enough)

And.....while trying to "gently' push the fan in the opposite direction, it just fell off the

-fan motor shaft-

Now, how much should I be paying for a boneyard fan, and any links on replacement / how difficult is this operation.

Oh i see your issue is a broken fan my issue was not the fan itself it was the coolant sensor. Had to replace that not the fan or the fan motor.
