Rear Wiper Washer Nozzle Installation

Anyone know the correct method/have any tips for getting a rear wiper washer nozzle (30634270) to seat fully? Trying to replace my old one, and getting the nozzle into tube it fits into has been a struggle. I already destroyed a new one, and I'm just curious how I was supposed to do this. I have to imagine there must be a better way than just carefully cranking on it back and forth, hoping the nozzle doesn't break off in the process, until it seats 98% of the way.

No but i found a thread about it....do you not just tap it in? maybe heat the metal tube so it expands and put the plastic nozzle in the freezer??

The new nozzle will not seat because the original broke off and its still stuck inside.
Remove the new nozzle, now you can extract the old broken peice with a sheet rock screw.

Agree with jonesg. Inspect for broken pieces inside of the housing. I think i used small drill bit to clean remanance of mine. You dont have to remove the motor assembly to replace this nozzle. If everything looks good, proceed to install new one. Use dish soap as lubrication. 98% might be all it can do. Possibly there was some change in supplier and it is not 100% accurate length. If it sits tight and sprays in the correct directions(i think it is 2 nozzles there) without leaks around stem and you can close decorative wiper cap-you are most likely as perfect as it gets.

I appreciate everyone trying to help. I'm pretty sure nothing was left behind when removing the original nozzle, shown below, which I was able to pull out with relative ease after hitting it with PB Blaster. I'm also of the mind that it should be fine with how far it is currently seated, I was just curious is anyone knew a "correct" way Volvo might have their techs do for this replacement.

Recommendation for anyone stumbling upon this: Delete the rear wiper and install a glass bung. Best decision I ever made after screwing around with this nozzle, then eventually the whole assembly died, gear stripped, etc.

Not worth it. Rear defog now cleans my xc70 rear window. This is the kit I bought. He provided 3 bungs of marginally varying size, adhesive, and easy instructions.

Removed the fuse or relay, can't remember, for the rear washer pump and the wiper arm. Installed a screw and zip tied the water line just in case. Done and looks really slick, I get compliments on it from other Volvo owners. Plus, I don't have to fart around with it anymore

Update: The problem ended up being that the metal tube the nozzle fits in had become very slightly oblong at some point, preventing the nozzle from easily sliding in. Rounding the opening by inserting the end of a similar diameter punch/pick allowed the nozzle to go in much, much easier.

I used a punch, too, after the kid smashed the nozzle with a basket ball.
