If anyone can tell me what or where to order a part. I am in need of the little black piece on the door to the gas cap that holds it shut. If the door is open it would be in the top right corner.
If it is on the upper right hand corner, the hinge side, it is the hinge assembly and there are a gob of them on ebay as well as FCP Groton. A common failure item but it is cheap and easy.
I think you need to give us a bit more information too.
The hinges hold the door open but you could also close the door if the hinges are working properly. It should shut completly unless your missing the metal spring which is part of the assembly.
The second part to the gas filler door is the lock assembly. There is a solenoid which is part of the security system which locks the door (and at the rate of gas prices now a days) keeps your tank protected againsts strangers.
Which one of these are the problem?
(if you cant find them in your local junk place .. message me and i can get a spare over to you).
