changing s40 TD water pump. easy / hard?

HI All,

Im in despertate need to change the water pump on my '97' S40 TD but im working blind with no manual. Does anyone how difficult the job is to do? I also have no idea whether the water pump is drive from the cam belt or aux belt? Any help for this job would be greatly appreciated.

It can be done if you have some mechanical knowledge.

thanks Bill thats extremely useful. Do you have similiar type instructions for changing the starter motor? My S40 is going through hell at the moment, I guess the 4 years of trouble free motoring is coming all at once...
