Auto Transmission

Post by Daria »

Hi All,

My question is: I have a '94 850 with 113K and the other day I backed out of my driveway, put it in drive and it would not shift down; so, I stopped and put it back in park and then in drive again and it shifted fine. Any idea - should I start shopping for a new car?

Thanks,
Daria

Check your trans. fluid level, color and smell. It should be orange or pink, with no burnt smell.

You may want to change the fluid if it fails any of these tests.

Did you get a flashing arrow on the dash if so try PNP switch, sounds like the same thing that was happening to 850t5r. If it happenens again see if the ecu throws up any codes.
