2002 v-70 Turbo problems???

Post by 3basecharlie »

On several incidents recently when punching the accelerator the car came close to stalling out and on one occassion did stall. I have been told this is due to the turbo not working, I have no previous experience with turbos and I don't know where to start...any suggestions :?: :?
Thanks

Normally a stuck turbo won't cause your engine to die, you just will have reduced performance. If you can, remove the intake hose from the compressor housing and reach in gently with a finger and see if you can turn the impeller. If it won't spin, the turbo is stuck. If it does spin, I think your problem lies somewhere else. Can you take the car to a local auto parts chain to have them read the OBD codes with a diagnostic reader?
