2001 S60 2.4T: Noise when Turning Wheel at low speeds

Hi,
I get a humming noise when turning my wheel at low speeds...really only hear it when its cold out.
I also have a clunking sound when stepping on the brakes and coming to a stop when in reverse in any temp.

CV Joint problem??

Could be a number of things- first of all, check your automatic steering fluid to see if it's low- only top off with what's recommended in your owner's manual- not power steering fluid sold at the autozone. The clunking, unfortunately is something that '01 transmissions were prone to- could be a stop-neutral issue that can be solved by the latest transmission software upgrade or it could be something more- just make sure you have the latest software fix.
