Post by brad98S70 »

First time user, great site!! I cant pull out the transmission dip stick. I used nearly all my force and nothing. What more can I do? Pull hard as I can? Can I cause any damage? Thanks ...

WD-40 at the base of the colored part of dipstick where it goes into metal tube. It can rust there and make the rubber o ring that seals disptick bind up in the tube.

Rotate it using a pair of pliers.
But first, buy a new dipstick from dealer, about $6 or so:

Known problem in this car, sometimes it just breaks and you have to fish out the broken part.
So again, get a new dipstick BEFORE you even touch this thing!

Thanks for the suggestions.. Had to muscle it out, twisting and pulling with pliers. Obviously no one checked this in a long time. Need a drain and fill I suppose!
