Replacing 850 Upper Torque Rod Bushing

Post by dustinclish »

I received my bushing from FCP today and put it in the freezer. I would love some tips on replacing it myself or even link me to an older post that I haven't found yet. Your help is appreciated greatly.Image

Also, go to IPDusa.com and look-up your car/parts...they have download instructions in PDF.

Freezer and cold, soapy water!

I took a vise grip and turned it upside down to help press it in - clunky and heavy, but it got the job done!

That is a great guide from IPD but OP is replacing the torque mount, not the firewall mount. And using an OEM style, not poly.

Juan62 very kind of you, but none of these IPD installation guides are useful for what he is doing, I was trying to say that in my last post. OP is installing OEM style, not poly. I just went and looked at their site, IPD does not appear to have an installation guide for this part.

I got it in about a third of the way using a pressing device made out of a bolt, pipe flanges, and a series of different sized washers as demonstrated in Geev's tutorial. I busted 2 bolts in half though (the second being the biggest bolt i could fit through the bushing) After that I just took a hammer and hammered away at it in a circular pattern for about 15 minutes and it did the trick : )
