98 v70t5 front end rebuild...

Post by jbo6924 »

Well I hate to say it but I was in an accident in my t5. The drivers side front is in pretty bad shape, but the good news is the flatbed driver started my car and drove it up on the truck!!!! No fluids leaking! Hood is shot, bumper shot, drivers side fender shot. Some metal bent up in the engine compartment. Got an estimate of,(wait for it...) 8700.00 to repair it!!! I think,(with a little help from my friends) I can do the work myself and save a bundle. Any and all opinions are welcome. Also interested in hearing from any and all who have experience in this, as your words will be those reviewed again and again. Have to make a final decision in the next few days. Just can't seem to part with this car, you all know there is something about them...

Did someone hit you? Is the insurance company going to pay? When metal is bent under the hood that usually means frame damage. Volvos are made to absorb hits which cost in repairs.
