Hi, I would like to know if I can use another type or brand of front shock absorber for my volvio v70 1999 because in my country the original shock absorber cost 400 dollars each!!
Does anybody use bilstein or similar?

Thanks

I have Bisteins on a couple of my cars and I am quite happy with them. The ride is slightly harsher than the OEM Sachs but the handling is much improved.

This is Bilstein TC, also called Bilstein B4, they are the same ones Lee posted about. Bilstein part numbers:
Front struts are 22-045799
Rear shocks are 19-029450

I have used them too and like them.

I had the whole set of Bilstein TCs for an 850 wagon I owned shipped for $110USD from an eBay seller a couple of years ago all the way to Australia. FCP Euro's shipping prices were very similar at the time.

I think the total cost was somewhere around $500USD
