Purge valve

Post by guambrocha »

Is this the purge valve for a 1996 volvo 850 ( base) was diging around after p0410,p0442 and p0446.
What i found:
1) small vacumm leak created by battery I assume since it was asmall hose right underneath the battery
2) J shape hose mentioned in other posts: J hose was OK, charcoal canister nipple was broken
3) ON assumed purge valve shown in picture found a hole (look mclosely at the bottom of the barrel looking thing)

Just need to comfirm if the part posted is the purge vav;ve since it looks diffrent that the one on FCP website

On my '97 855 GLT there is a part that looks like the one you pictured, but it is the cruise control vacuum actuator. It is attached underneath the battery tray.

The purge valve on mine is attached near the radiator.
1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94

That's the cruise control pump.

Purge valve is near the radiator, as seen at the bottom left corner of this picture.
