1998 V70 Front end squeak. But I replaced everything.

Post by Jicafold »

I replaced my front upper spring seats with XC90 seats, new Bilstein Touring struts, new end links, new lower control arms, new cv axles. I did it all except the strut mounts. I also cut 1/4 turn off the springs and the pigtail still sits in the spring mount. Lately I've been noticing a squeaky squeaky in the front end. I can make it go away if I give it a touch of gas. When I let off it returns. It also goes away when it rains, as if the water temporarily lubricates it. I figure it is either the strut mounts or the springs are rubbing the mounts now that they are cut and sit in there just a bit differently. Opinions?

Well, the upper mount is a poly mount and I know that is good. How many lower mounts are there and where are they?

Big one is front of motor, right under timing belt. Evaluate on lift
