2002 S80. Transmission issue

Long story short car was having issues shifting in fourth gear with a little bit of a stutter , but also RPMs jumping maybe 30 to 40. Then got the to point where the transmission would not move at all, but if you turn off the car waited a minute or two turn it on it would start moving again. Threw po756
Cleared it would go maybe a mile. Took it to a local shop we have replaced the PCM or TCM whatever you want to call it and the ECM drove fine for 50 miles and then she started again. Is it more than likely going to have to have the transmission pulled?

yes. mine did this right after I bought it. But crazy thing mine never threw any codes or messages. It would go into limp mode. I would wait a little and could go again, but no very far. Towed it twice. The last time I had it towed to the transmission shop. Cost me just under $3000.00 but it has been running excellent for the past year and a half.
