Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
850 and X70 (that means S70, V70 and C70) windshields are not interchangeable. They have different curvatures, so when you install a S70 windshield on a 850 it will not fit correctly.
Volvo lists different parts numbers for 850 and S70 windshields also.
I just confirmed the no vote by side to side comparison in the garage. The S70 front to back at C/L is a bit wider. It appears to have slightly more rake to it.

I also think that they are interchangeable.850 & s,v,xc70 are practically the same cars on the same platform(chasis).Maybe it is just a visual difference.
That said....headlights from early and late 850 are different and have different part numbers but they will fit to both cars, early and late, they are interchangeable.
Same thing with all doors including a tailgate. They can be visually different, but they are "bolt to bolt".
