2000 S70 GLT SE- no start

Post by angeltease »

Hi there!
Our Volvo was recently stolen, when police recovered it we had to have it towed home from impound...a month ago! My husband is a mechanic, so he replaced the fuel pump, relay and fuse, now it is getting fuel. If we try to start it- it "turns over but doesn't start". When my husband sprays starting fluid in the intake it will chug, but still it never starts. He hooked it up to his Actron OBDII code scanner, scanner powers up as it should but when we try to connect for any reason (vehicle info., codes, diagnostics) it tries for a very long time, then simply says it cannot connect to the vehicle. try again? i read somewhere about an "automatic shutoff relay" but it was only mentioned briefly....does anyone know what this is and where?
I am hoping someone out there has had this problem(s) but if not i would very much appreciate some help brainstorming this.
Thanks!
Crystal Wilson
