Hi All -- New to the forum.
I'm thinking of purchasing a very clean '92 240 GL (Nashville, TN area). Paint is decent (some scratches and minor dings) but no rust, very good tires, electrics work except for cruise control, manual sunroof doesn't leak, engine bay is dry, the interior is immaculate (perhaps a previous owner re-did it -- that's how good it is)...But there is a slight "miss" when driving. Frankly I didn't notice it but the seller insisted it was there (refreshing for a seller to insist there's a defect in the car he's selling!). Anyway -- any notions what it might be? He seemed to think it was a timing belt issue, but I also heard it could be a burnt valve. What's the worst case scenario? I can get get the car for $1500 -- but I don't want it to become a $7,000 one! Note: I'm not the DIY type..
Thanks!
