1998 S70 turbo rebuild

Have a lot of coolant leaking and some oil -- found out today that it's all in the turbo area, the 2 hoses and a pipe? plus the turbo itself is leaking. (160k on car) Could someone give me an idea on repair cost (not a job I'll do myself) on rebuilding this entire area? Just assume worst case and the cost to replace everything associated with the turbo to get it back to new. Certainly the hoses etc are easy to understand but what usually fails wken the turbo itself is leaking? Is it a gasket or something?

Thanks VERY MUCH for any answers -- need to get this done right away.

Rebuild the turbo, replace the coolant hoses, replace the oil return gasket and seal?

Without labor, probably around $300-500 for parts.

Rather than guess, have a reputable shop give you a quote. I'll bet your turbo is fine

Pluses to what Russ said, Look at the rear exhaust cam seal for leaks. leaking cam seal makes a mess around the turbo. Coolant is probably the short rubber hose from hell on the turbo. Then do a glove test to see if your PCV needs servicing which in turn can dislodge your cam seals.

It isn't a bad job but the cleanup time got left off for the video. Usually they come off of the car just caked in grease and I soak them in kerosene for about a week before I even start to clean them up. You can use some other degreasers to speed that process up. I think JDS60R uses a heavy concentrate of Purple Power to clean them up.
