2005 s40 radio/ climate buttons do not work.

Hi, on my 2005 s40 the radio works ( I can change presets and volume through steering wheel, the screen works and I can hear it) but the radio controls, climate controls, heated seats button, and every other button on the face plate does not work. Also the stc button next to the 12 volt plug doesn't work. Does anyone have any insight? I appreciate the help.

Hi, I had the same issue with the control panel in a V50. Not a thing worked at the control panel except buttons on the steering wheel to control the radio only. The dealer quoted the repair for about €970 which was the price of a complete new control panel without labour. After I've investigated what could be the course checking the fuse box under the bonnet, all fuses seems to be fine. After checking the related relais (R30) inside that fuse box, I've discovered it wasn't working when you turn on the ignition. I've pulled the relais and tested it on a 12V source and it confirmed my suspicion. Took the relais to the dealer and bought a new genuine one at the parts sales for less then €20 and the problem was solved. Hope this will help you.

I know this is a necropsy, but on the off chance someone knows...the guy above said the R30 relay was bad...I only see R1-18. Any idea which relay is associated? I have the same problem, obviously.
