Hello Volvo Forum I am having a problem with my 850 GLT, after a much needed spark plug wire and air filter change the car refuses to start. It was running just fine before hand.
Here is what happened
1. I first installed the plug wires in the wrong order stupidly thinking my guess work was adequate
2. i tried to start the car, it turned over but no dice
3. realized my error. looked up correct order and hooked the wires up correctly
4. attempted to start the car again, still nothing
How can i fix this?
Thanks
Starting trouble post plug wire install Topic is solved

If you've verified the plugs are in the correct order on the distributor, I would check the coil, make sure that connection is tight. I'm sure other members will chime in with more helpful advice than my own soon.

There is at least one manual, Haynes I believe, that has bad information on the spark wire order

UPDATE, Do not trust google it will give you the wrong order. I found the above one on Youtube and it started without issue, I sincerely appreciate the help guys.
PS, You all are much more helpful than the Integra forums I use for my project car.

We should pin this one- I know it's in the repair database but ever so often, we get this because there's false info out there...the Dealer love this!! They can charge their hourly rate and do almost nothing after the owner of the car has it towed to them...end result is just $$ down the drain!

Replaced plugs and wires. Yeah, I had the order reversed and corrected it. Seems like it almost started now but I smell gas. Could it be flooded?

Flooding yes, or "lawn mower syndrome." Does it sound like maybe it is cranking too easily/freely?
If just waiting a while doesn't help then the fix for LMS is 1 teaspoon of oil in each cylinder then crank it until starts.
