I'm going to sell my C70 HPT 5-Speed Vert

Post by woolshire »

I'm not sure how much to ask for it. It's been a great car, and I've kept it up well. No rust, everything works perfectly. It has two sets of wheels and tires (others are Dunlop Winter Sports...two brand new). I have too many vehicles, and this is the chosen casualty...I'm thinking $4k...being an HPT manual has to be worth a little more than an auto LPT, I would think.

This photo was handy.

I think you could find fish at 5-6k for this beast if you clean it up. Thats a rare care and the convertible+HPT+M5 are sought after in that combination.

oh yeah, miles. 169k. Still has original PCV with a negative pressure at the oil cap. I believe that tells you its been well taken car of.
In my three years, all new suspension, heater core, brakes/rotors/emergency shoes, headlight upgrade, and lots of smaller items.

Here's a pic I just took this morning:

my usual comment on the matter: tire-kickers from Craigslist have no idea what makes your car special and don't care. you will only get good money for it by selling it on a Volvo site, and then only if you have a particularly desirable configuration with good service history.

I bought my car from a Volvo forum previously owned by two or three enthusiasts. worth the extra scratch. not everyone thinks so, but the proportion who do is higher here than on the classifieds sites.

Hi,

Beautiful car. Nothing more need be said :-)
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

I have to ask the idiot's question--did the C70 stay consistent from its intro (1998 in US I believe) through 2004, or was there any change as with the V70s (P1 and P2).
I guess I'm asking did the later ones suffer any of the reported problems of the early P2 V70s?
