OIL LEAK

Post by BEMFICA1 »

My 87 740 GLE is turning 309 K miles. Recently developed an oi leak thru
the engine oil cap (top of the engine). I assume that the pressure inside the engine is too high, forcing the oil out... What should I look for to eliminate the problem? Clogged flame trap,maybe...Car Is running OK.

Also is there a relay controlling the interior lights? Is it located behind the fuse box?

Wud appreciate some help.

Check the cap's gasket. I had to replace mine on my 850.

You both have mentioned the solution, yes clean and/or replace the flame trap, also replace the oil filler cap gasket, this gasket on the B230 engine is a common source for leaks, I replace mine quite often.
