I try to not roll the window all the way down. Power antenna not working is extremely common, mines up so I don't care. There are a couple threads detailing how to replace or rebuild the power antenna motor if you search.

Most probably the rear window guide in the door is broken. Take the door panel off (good videos can be found on how to do that). Tgen check for loose parts inside the door. Replace if necessary.

I have the same clunk when rolling the window all the way down and have been told this part is the culprit

It seems to me I recall when the antenna went bad in I think the 1996 960 Volvo put a new mast in it. I had a couple power antennas go bad over the years. I was so happy when Volvo did away with them. June

Check the end of the guide where it attaches to the door - that is where they usually break. Even though it looks good it may be broken.

There should be a torx or phillips screw about halfway down the back edge of the door below the latch. If it is there, remove it and you will probably find the bracket that should hold the window rear guide has broken and falls into the bottom of the door. Later cars used a rivet to hold it in place. The 850 one may be obsolete but the later V/S 70 one works too.
