Moonroof Sunroof Metal Rod

Post by UPVolvo »

So wife couldn’t close her moonroof tonight. I never noticed this little metal rod protruding before inspecting it tonight. We’ve only had the car 2 weeks and had it open and closed multiple times this past weekend. It will still move forward and backwards, but will not close all the way. This rod will hit the wind deflector and gets stuck. Can’t really tell where it’s supposed go when the glass moves all the way forward. Thanks in advance.

That looks like one of the springs that hold the retractable cover in place

That’s exactly what it was! It was hard to see the passengers side with the tinting and black border of glass. Found a broken piece of plastic that was on the sunshade too. I was able to pull that rod out of track and now works perfectly. Thank you!
