I am preparing to do the 5/8 heater hose mod this weekend. During my searching an re-searching I came across a IPD product here - https://www.ipdusa.com/products/5210/11 ... old-spacer

Is this a worth while project in anyone's opinion?

The vehicle is a 98 base v70 with 255k miles.

I appreciate any insight that you can share.

All the best.

I'm of the view that where there is no proof of concept in improving anything then you are paying for one of those 'As seen on TV.." things that claim great things but seldom actually do anything worthwhile.

If you want to try it and have the time and money then go for it.

If you do it, use a laser thermometer or such and check the temp before the mod after a long drive and then afterwards after the same long drive. Try to make sure both days have the same weather, etc.

It may help, but I don't think it should do so greatly.

Unless you're doing some serious other mods and are trying to squeeze out every possible bit of HP, you could probably spend the money better somewhere else. Anyone who tells you they "feel a difference" or anything because of a product like this is probably making it up in their head to justify the expense or just lying. I'm not saying it doesn't make ANY difference at all, but you just see this with a lot of random products that promise gains, but don't really have the data to back it.
