While I don't know a thing about V-70 XC's Here is the VADIS procedure.

Looks like quite the job for a light bulb.

Thanks for your reply, Lee, but I don't know what it means. Was something missing, or do I need to know more about VADIS? What do I do with the info that you supplied?

It appears from the procedure that the entire headlight assembly must be removed to gain access to the bulb. The two pages from VADIS, which is the computerized factory service manual, describe how to remove the headlight assembly.

I shudder to think what the dealer would charge to replace the $2.00 light bulbs.

The message panel says that the front turn signal is out (passenger side).

The following is the instruction in the Volvo owner's manual:

Changing the bulb in the turn signals at the front corners
Switch off all lights and turn ignition key to position 0.
Pull out the bulb and its socket by twisting counterclockwise. Replace bulb.
Press the bulb and its socket back into place.
Check that the new bulb lights.

If the washer reservoir is in the way then it will need to be removed. I had to do this on my 740 to replace some of the bulbs.

Go to http://www.volvocars.us/tools/OwnersInfo/ register and download a copy of the manual from the Owner's Library FOC.

I tried to download a copy of the owner's manual from that site, but it looks like access the site can is only permitted if you have an American address.
