Re: ABS woes

Update!

So after replacing the abs motor to deal with BCM-0070, apparently I now have abs after a year of ownership. Not sure what else I should look after, but I now get vibrations on the pedal when I hard stop in the rain. Post more if it comes back.

Re: Water pipe banjo bolt

The Bolt at the rear has no check valves as it has to be a straight shot for the coolant water; and the new one for whatever reason has probably been changed to a 19mm form a 17mm. Do you really need a new bolt for that though? Beats me. You are gonna have to remove the top engine mount and the alum...

Mystery liquid below front of engine

Well its been a good year now and the money pit is now demanding more tributes. There's been a weird liquid around the subframe where the engine mount to the front of the engine is. However there hasn't been any new liquid for weeks, and it hasn't evaporated or sloshed around, so it's either motor o...

Re: Semi to full synthetic oil change?

If I could clarify; what I'm trying to tell you is that at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Almost all motor oil today has already exceeded the required specs from the 2000's and the only thing you should be worrying about is the oil weight and the price. Now if you want 0w-40 then yes you can ...

Re: Swap P3 steering Wheel to P2 ?

I don't think Volvo's are that costomizable. You're gonna have to do some homework and check to see if they even have the same plugs for the wiring.

Re: Thermostat or water pump bad?

You stated that one hose is hotter that the other right? That could be a sign that your radiator has hit the end of it's life. Here's the right radiator for your model, and they also have a cheaper one for $105 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-radiator-s60-v70-xc70-s80-s70-31319056 I think the...

Re: troubleshooting help please

Get your arms into the nooks and crannys of the air pipes past the MAF all the way to the Throttlbe body to check for a loose or broken pipe. You also stated that you are losing oil. it's possible that you're due for another PCV job and there could be a completely clogged tube below the intake manif...

Re: Please Identify this engine part

Should be the brake vaccum switch. Side effects are mushy brakes. This should be the part. Heading to bed after this post, so just double check the part number or wait for someone to confirm with me. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-booster-vacuum-switch-s60-v70-xc70-s80-genuine-volvo-31265825...

Re: FM radio is silent or comes in poorly

Same here. It's fair to say that 15 yrs is the life expectancy of a majority of the P2 Volvo parts whatever it may be. I think there's a video on someone adding a heatsink to a chip in order to stop it from overheating. Otherwise you are suppose to replace the unit with a used one, and what, have it...

Re: GKN passenger side cv axle carrier bearing noise

I have yet to change a passenger cv, so maybe I'm wrong, but this seems like a non-issue since this is an exterior part intentionally exposed to the elements, cv issues are mostly from the boots, and this part is not intended to be sealed like an axle bearing. On top of that it's secured to the engi...
