I used a 1# sledge to knock 2 of them out. The other two required 20 seconds with a recip saw to cut part of the way through the plastic outer cup (stuck the saw in the gap in the bushing and cut from the inside, out. You can also get creative and do metal embossing by making a male die and a rubber pad to press the die against. 20 tons should work for patterns a couple inches across. I saw a car magazine article where they made a jeep logo this way.

I have read that if the PTC port gets clogged up, then that can also cause the glove to inflate. If you haven't done it already, it might be a good idea to pull the PTC and check to see if it's clean.

If you are replacing a valve because it started to burn or chip, then it should be straightforward, If you are changing valves because they hit pistons and bent, or with excessive miles, check the stems/guides.( How much do the valves wiggle) with the springs removed and cleaned.
