Re: Rear cam seals

I've done a lot of these on P80 cars: both rear cam seals are the same part number, intake (under cap) and exhaust (under cam sensor).

misha wrote: 15 Dec 2024, 12:21 Ok...are they the same...behind cam position sensor and behind cap & rotor?
Yes. On the right side of the engine Both are the same part number.

I switched out cap/plug/wires on one side and the camshaft position sensor on the other when I did them

Re: 850 T5 oil pressure loss: catastrophic oil cooler failure or headgasket?

Wanted to follow up in case anyone else has a similar issue. Thankfully it ended up just being that the oil cooler failed inside the radiator—head gasket is totally fine. Replaced the radiator and she’s been running perfect with no further issues, and no pressure in the cooling system. So, it’s inte...

Re: 98 V70 I Fenix - OBD ECM readout with LED not working

misha wrote: 17 Aug 2024, 13:20 Possible reversed led polarity?
Did you tried it directly to a car battery?
Today I have turned to this task again and indeed found the LED polarity wrong ... So, good hint!
Resoldered and will test tomorrow.

Re: AC turns on 1 sec then off. Full charge

I am thrilled to announce that this will not be a dead end thread! It turns out my high pressure sensor was bad. Took 1 minute to replace. From my research this is an uncommon failure, but I was able to troubleshoot it via multimeter as my last few posts stated.

Re: No start after new battery 98 V70 glt

Got the alarm to reset via door locking unlocking. It tools about a dozen attempts, but it worked. Vehicle started. Now to get the heater core replaced and the car cleaned up. Thank you for your help on this. Anyone know someone who can program a fob? Dealerships wants 150 for one fob! Crazy kids!!

Re: No start after new battery 98 V70 glt

Round of applause to Misha for suggesting correct answer. Just for my education: i thought that immobilizer problem usually should be accompanied with a immobilizer(key) light on the dash. So older Volvo's dont have that light i guess and show the issue with flashing hazard lights?

Re: Another Car, Another Climate Issue. AC This Time.

And just like that, it’s fixed! Finally. No temp sensors on MCC as far as I can tell. It’s really archaic. Reading through my symptoms, it seemed a whole lot like a really exaggerated case of the compressor clutch needing shimming, so I shimmed the compressor anyway, figuring it can’t hurt. In the p...
