If you get rid of the hose clamps for stainless steel Oetikers, Andy then protect it with some heat shrink. It will last the rest of the car life. Try removing the serpentine belt and seeing of the noise stops. It does not sound good, but could just be a bad accessory

Amblerman, that was good thinking on your part. What I want to accomplish before too long is new calipers. Haven't looked at the allen nuts that hold on the calipers (under the plastic cap.) I'm having reservations... getting the calipers off may be interesting. The brake hose I can soak with penet...
