Re: Alternator insanity

2005 and later need to have the the correct alternator with the LIN communicating voltage regulator or you get the message. The alternator charges but the ECM gets no response and that message shows. The alternators are identical between the 04 and older and 05 and newer.

Re: 1999 AC job. Rein over nissens, adjustable orfice valve

I have installed several VOVs in different vehicles. Maybe a dozen. On one vehicle it worked and is still installed. On many I had to remove and put the standard one in. On 4-5 it is still installed but the system didn't seem to be any colder. The original promise is that the VOV will fix the issue ...

Re: P80 AC ORings Tabulation, condensor Orings NLA? (1993-1999 AC)

If you take the old one in to a NAPA they should be able to match them. There really isn't anything special about them so long as they are rated for PAG oil and pretty much all of them are.

Re: Air conditioner only (somewhat) works at highway speeds

The compressor on that car is a variable displacement version. The compressor has an electric valve on the side that varies output of compressor. At highways speeds with engine at higher speed and lots of condenser airflow it will cool a little bit even if it is stuck on its low output position. If ...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Coolant Question

Funny thing is my 850 comes 'standard' with a large green bin in the trunk containing a 5qt jug of oil, funnel, transmission fluid (power steering?), brake fluid, distilled water, mixed coolant, coolant, washer fluid, air guage and pump, jumper cables. This is just in case I run into a stranded moto...

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout

Sorry I didn't see this one earlier. I applaud all the hard work and methodical troubleshooting and documentation. This issue is not too uncommon when FP is replaced. Dirt gets into tank and the dirt/silt plugs the membrane filter on bottom of pumps in the fuel pump cup. Letting the car sit lets the...

'98 Volvo Wagon Rear Seatbelt Stuck

So my rear seat belt in 1998 volvo v70 is stuck. I pulled it out before I brought it down and as I slowly relased it back in as I brought the seat back up. Failed to follow the correct instructions of what the previous owner told me. Now I have a BIG problem. After this, I decided to tackle this mys...

Re: (OEM) Single Use hose clamp

abscate wrote: 23 Aug 2018, 04:58 Oetiker clamps are the only ones I’ve found that’s stop the power steering seep at the reservoir on either my P80 bastard and P2
I just added a quarter turn to the existing clamp and my leaks stopped :-)

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

On a side note. Rode with a friend for the weekend to a campground in southern Indiana/Brown county in his '15 5-0 Mustang. Aside from the classic exterior styling reminiscent of the '60s mustangs that I admit does look 'neat', I wasn't terribly impressed with the car. Skip the detail below if you'...
