Re: P80 Nivomat diffrences question
DO NOT GET USED NIVOMATS! If they are more than 10 (15 at best) years old, they are not worth it. I had brand new ones built by Sachs according to R specs like 5 years ago, paid over a grand and they work nicely. Still, a good coilover suspension like KW V3 will be alot better. Old nivomats sag whil...

Re: Oil consumption
While I've been a fan of Mobil 0W-40 for many years in other cars, I had the same problem once I switched my 96R to 0W-40. On the 94T5, it would leak oil through all possible seals, even with a freshly cleaned PVC. Switching back to 5W or 10W solved the problem. In my 96R, I'm running 5W-50 at the m...

Re: ABS resistance checks out, module repaired, still have codes
+1 on sending it to MattyMoo.
I don't know how many times I resoldered the module on my 96 R, but after a few months or a year the light would be back on. Finally I decided that I wanted to get it done right, and I never looked back.

Re: Separating front seat back from seat base
+1 on what Neil says.
The back is a little more troublesome to swap, but the lower skin is not a big deal.
I tried taking parts off a manual seat (the spring loaded shocks that helps adjust the seat height) and had to give up. They are a nightmare to take apart and worse to put back together.

Re: A "REAL" fix for the 850 wiper arms
I bought a Volvo branded and a no name wiper arm (driver side) through Skandix and this fixed the problem on both cars, probably for a few years. Aftermarket seems very similar, if not identic. If you want to keep the arms from bending in the future, unload them by lifting the wipers off the windshi...

Re: Timing belt wandering 96 10v 850
We've had that issue here a while ago. I can't remember the solution, though.

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
On a side note: I've been running my 94 T5 and my 96 R without a heat shield for years. I'm sure they're good for something, but I don't know what for exactly. Maybe the main benefit is that people don't get scared staring at a glooming red turbo when opening the hood at night. Reason I'm running wi...

Re: Engine Damage, NEED HELP - 1992 850GLT
A guy I know around here has a 20V NA motor in his basement. we dragged it down there 2 years ago after ripping it out of a 92 that I used for my manual swap. If you can't get yours running with a valve job, I can ask him if he want to part with it. I'm outside of Vienna, so it is kinda close to Slo...
